Lol… I suppose you’re right about being able to comment where ever you want. But riddle me this: don’t you think your opinions would be more respected on a video thread other than this? Say… On a video where the audio of this supposed “horrible” cover is? Think about it. You’re talking to a completely unrelated audience, yet you EXPECT people to agree with you. So, really, if you think about it, you’re just being an over-zealous loser… Yet, you’re calling ME a retard. Think about it.

  2. MorbidDiarreah says:

I think I have to agree with what Taud is saying… But really, what the fuck is “true metal”? A person that wants to be “true metal” wants to be this: A dumb, irresponsible, probably jobless, cave-man-esque creature that eats hamburgers all day and rides a harley. I have nothing against people like that, but why would you EVER strive to be like that…?? lol

  3. Taud says:

Yeah, slayer is for the cave man esque, its really THAT old… AHAHAHA but nah seriously it sounds like something jack black would say “you think you know TRUE METALLL?!?”

  4. greyfox92 says:

lol divine intervention was one of slayers worst albums.

  5. greyfox92 says:

so you would rather metal be played by an uptight, vegan business man that drives a smart car? metal is a masculine thing, and what you just did was stereotype an entire group of people. not all metal artists are like that.

  6. greyfox92 says:

a cover isnt about making the song exactly the same, a cover is supposed to be the artists own original arrangement while keeping the original in mind.

trivium’s version of master of puppets, to me, is a bad cover because its exactly the same as the original.

  7. MorbidDiarreah says:

lmao, dude. I wasn’t talking about people PLAYING the music. I was talking about the followers. Sorry for your misunderstanding.

  8. TheRealFatassFilms says:

Yeah, his band totally sucks. Good thing Gene Hoglan was in Strapping Young Lad, dolt. He’s a fucking monster. Devin is a fantastic vocalist with a devistating growl and a great singing voice, something you can’t really say about the fuckstick from Slayer. Oh right, and his guitar solos, when he plays them, don’t sound like shit. Good point though dude.

  9. orkutfinance says:

what’s that you say about Slayer?

  10. TheRealFatassFilms says:

That the singer doesn’t have an amazing singing voice and all their solos are wanky bend-fests.

  11. orkutfinance says:

thats your opinion. I love Slayer and their my favorite band.

  12. TheRealFatassFilms says:

No dude, both are fact. He can’t sing, and he doesn’t. If he were to sing, it would sound like shit. That’s why he just kind of….yells. And not like in the same way Devin’s “yelling” in this song. Like…he’s fucking yelling. And every solo Kerry King has ever played is either an over-abundance of speed picking or an onslaught of unison bends. Go play a Slayer solo and see how many times you’re either speed picking or bending, because it’ll be the whole fucking solo.

  13. orkutfinance says:

It doesn’t matter if you say Tom can’t sing, cause what metal band vocalist actually sings? Most of them growl, wail, scream, shreik, or yell. And about King’s speed picking, well thats just the way he plays, a lot of thrash metal bands speed pick. Its all a matter of taste.

  14. TheRealFatassFilms says:

What metal vocalists actually sing? Bruce Dickinson, James Hetfield, Devin Townsend, Ozzy, King Diamond, Serj Tankian, Troy Sanders, Rob Halford, (don’t feel like spelling his name) vocalist for Opeth, Maynard James Keenan, Rody Walker. A bunch of them do.

And yeah it’s his style, and yeah it’s something a lot of guitar players use. He just doesn’t use it in a skilled way.

  15. orkutfinance says:

Alright, you got the good vocalists, sorry that I wasn’t thinking of them. But sorry, I still say Slayer kicks ass.

I’ll probably sound like a douche or something but can somebody tell me what they chant along with the main riff at the start please?

i dunno what it is, sounds like ‘hey, you blow’ haha but i dunno, SOMEBODY HELP MEEE, such a fucking brutal, incredible song!!!!!!!!!!!!

(listen to the 1996 demo of this aswell, fucking hell, YOU WILL MOSH!!!)

  20. Trollfresser says:

Dude – you don’t sound like a douche.

About a million people have asked that question and the answer is that there is no absolute answer for this.
Some say it’s “Hey you mo” (for moron) or “you blow” and about a dozen more – so we’ll never know for sure ;)

  21. cosmicZoMbIe777 says:

    thank you very much.

  22. musicalkaratekid says:

I just love it when devin towsend lets his anger flow with them heavy fucking riffs. City was my first ever album by strapping young lad(or devin townsend for that matter) and, apart from ‘alien’,i still say its his best work.its songs liek this that explain why:D
